Lion Fight Promotions, a worldwide leader in Muay Thai combat, makes its hugely anticipated return to California with the biggest show in its history.
Set for Saturday, November 3rd, Lion Fight 50 is a landmark event on a number of special fronts. It will be Lion Fight’s first event held at the spectacular L.A. Memorial Coliseum, the home of the USC Trojans and Los Angeles Rams. Tickets for Lion Fight 50 go on sale today at http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0A005541CE4522C7 beginning at 10 a.m. PT.
This event also marks Lion Fight’s first show with its new television partner, CBS Sports Network. The main card of Lion Fight 50 will air immediately following the NCAA football games on Nov. 3 with future events to air live and on same-day delay.
Lion Fight’s new “Presented By” partnership with Hollywood Park Casino made this event possible.
“Lion Fight is truly a monumental occasion for our brand,” said Scott Kent, CEO of Lion Fight.
“We have grown significantly over the course of past seven years, conquered many hurdles, and now have put ourselves truly at the forefront. Our new partnerships with CBS Sports Network and Hollywood Park Casino have been the difference-makers for us, and to have a home in California as prominent and historic as the L.A. Memorial Coliseum is certainly something very special.”
Three bouts have been named to the main-card lineup for Lion Fight 50, topped by the return of the organization’s most recognizable and dominant champions as Regian “The Immortal” Eersel defends his Lion Fight World Super Middleweight Title.
Eersel (49-4) has wrecked each opponent he has faced inside the Lion Fight ring, beginning with his stunning fourth-round head-kick knockout of two-division champion Jo Nattawut in a non-title bout. The Suriname-born Dutch star followed that victory with three consecutive demolitions, claiming the 168-pound division crown with a second-round destruction of England’s Jake Purdy, then notching his first successful title defense with an opening-round finish against Bahamian D.C. Pratt. Most recently under the Lion Fight banner, Eersel then erased the memories of last loss by avenging it with a fourth-round dismantling of Czech Matous Kohout.
Two other bouts set for LF50
A pair of unbeaten young lions will vie for the organization’s inaugural North American Lightweight Title as Jordan Harris (4-0) of Palmdale, California, is set to take on Josh Scales (3-0) of Austin, Texas.
In a welterweight clash, bragging rights will be up for grabs as two Los Angeles-area fan favorites square off. Josh Aragon (13-4), most recently seen representing Lion Fight at an event in England, returns home to face rival Brian Del Rosario (6-2).
More main-card matchups, including Eersel’s championship bout opponent along with bouts featuring Long Beach’s Kana Hyatt and the return of Chris Trammel, will be announced very soon. Preliminary bouts are highlighted by several of California’s top amateur standouts with those matchups being announced shortly as well.
