Second visit to Pattaya Orphanage great success!
Ramon couldn’t realize his dream helping the Thai orphans and orphanages, but his wife Ilona, myself and a few others decided to carry on. And thus The Diamond Foundation is being established in Thailand, with the main purpose of supporting the orphanages in the ‘motherland’ of Ramon Dekkers. Shortly after Ramon passed away t-shirts where being printed with the text “The Diamond is Forever”, referring to the nickname of Dekkers. The gaining will be donated to the foundation and thus the orphanages in Thailand. By now many shirts have been sold and famous fighters like Gokhan Saki have donated generous.
The first visit to the Pattaya Orphanage left a great impression. On the 7th of June I returned to Pattaya Orphanage. The moment I arrived the truck that brought our gift just left. As a matter of fact, I just received an e-mail by Ms. Siriphen Limsirikul (assistant director, International relations), thanking the foundation for the contribution. After a little talk with Ms. Limsirkul I was walked around and gave attention to the little ones. Just like the last time, the moment I entered the baby room the baby’s tried to cling on and as soon as I picked them up, they wouldn’t let go and a heartwarming smile appears on their faces. I can truly suggest anyone to visit these wonderful children. I noticed the other visitors who were there at the time enjoyed their stay just like I did.
With the help of many fans of Ramon and donations made by famous fighters, we are now able to contribute structural. The last time the foundation donated cash and milk, this time we decided to donate a flatscreen TV and a home cinema theater set. The orphanage was very thankful for this and on behalf of the orphanage and orphans I would like to thank all who have contributed to the foundation. A few words of Ms. Siriphen Limsirkul, assistant Director, International Relations:
“It’s the second visit of Mr. Roy van der Wal, President of Diamond Dekkers Foundation, and we are very grateful for his time and donation of a TV and home theater set. Representing the Diamond Dekkers Foundation, which was set up to fulfill the wish of the late Ramon Dekkers, renowned Muay-Thai athlete who passed away in February 2013 (http://diamondfoundation.eu/), Khun Roy came to the Pattaya Orphanage on 28th April for the first time, got to know more about us, and made cash as well as in-kind contributions. May Khun Ramon rest in peace and his legacy be known and benefit more and more children. Blessings upon Khun Ramon’s family, Khun Roy and his endeavours.”
